Attractions

English Harbor (National Park)

If you want to see the island as it was before the conquest by the British, you should visit the National Park in English Harbor. You will see the untouched nature of the island thanks to the fully recreated flora and fauna. The 27-square-kilometer park is undoubtedly a treasure for such a small state. Several species of wild animals, stunning beauty flowers and shrubs, all you can see in this natural corner.

St. John's Cathedral

A very important attraction for local residents is St. John’s Cathedral. The capital, St. John’s, is also named after St. John. Pay no attention to the outward inconspicuousness of this Anglican cathedral, which will certainly not eclipse its luxurious European counterparts.

The interior design of the temple without doubt deserves attention, the pine finish (all the interior decoration is made of pine wood) creates a very interesting contrast with the gray stone facade. There are very few surviving examples of rare wooden-stone architecture like this, which is definitely one of the reasons why tourists should visit St. Jones Cathedral. The square, which is located behind the southern wall of the cathedral, is part-time an ancient cemetery, where burials have not been held for 150 years.

Fort James.

To learn the history of Fort James and hear about the amazing legends and adventures, it is worth visiting this place with a guide. You will travel to the 18th century and see weapons depots, structures and buildings that preserve the atmosphere of that time. Imagine that once numerous guns directed towards the bay met pirate ships and defended the island from uninvited guests.

Codrington Laguna

Another beautiful creation of nature that can be found in Antigua and Barbuda is the Codrington Laguna. Caves with freshwater lakes, bright exotic birds, pink beaches and wonderful flowers. To enjoy these views, you will have to spend more than an hour walking, but it is worth it. Codrington Lagoon is located on the west coast of Barbuda.

Codrington House

A reminder of the times when slavery was the norm is another attraction – Codrington House. From the once luxurious estate owned by slave owners, only a few walls and structures remained. But climbing the hill, where this three-hundred-year-old building is located (or rather what remains of it), is worth it for the sake of a chic view of the Caribbean Sea. The distance from St. John's to Codrington House is 5 km.

Ranway Bay and Dickenson Bay

Extended beaches, clean sand and chic places for surfing can be found in the beautiful bays of Ranway Bay and Dickenson Bay. There are also the ruins of the ancient Fort Corbinson, a huge salty pond nesting thousands of native feathered inhabitants, and a restored sugar plantation (appeared in 1650) with a small museum.

In addition, there are two national parks and one of the most visited restaurants in Nosach Bay. Well, lovers of all the mysterious are advised to visit the “Devil’s Bridge”, a rock formation in which, according to the legends of the Indians, the spirits of the island live.
