If a visa is not issued, what should I do?
Everyone likes to travel. Someone is interested in rest, someone is interested in entertainment... food, new acquaintances, or just a desire to change the environment. But regardless of the purpose of the tourist, to enter the country of destination, he will need one very important document – a visa.
Many articles and websites are devoted to the question “How to get a visa?”, but the question “What to do if a visa is not issued?” is not often considered.
To the delight of tourists, refusal to issue a visa is rare, but it happens. Refusal of a visa is not pleasant, but usually correctable.
There are many countries, the legislation is different, the procedure for obtaining a visa is different and the reasons for refusing a visa are different. Despite this fact, there are some of the most common grounds for refusing a visa.

1. Providing incomplete or unreliable information. This basis is the most common and does not entail negative consequences. In this case, the reason may be:
- provision of an incomplete package of documents for a visa;
Incorrectly completed documents;
- the provided package does not confirm the information stated in the documents;
- Visa office or consulate staff were unable to contact the tourist;
- the organization of the destination (hotel) has not confirmed your booking.
2. There are suspicions about the financial viability of the tourist.
3. There are suspicions about the intentions of the tourist to work illegally abroad.
4. Lack of affection at home.
5. Criminal records. If a tourist has a criminal past or during past trips there were difficult situations associated with violation of the law, then it will be much more difficult for a tourist to obtain a visa. Administrative violations can also cause additional questions.
6. Suspicious behavior in the interview. As a rule, all tourists are nervous when communicating for a visa, but if you confuse information about yourself, can not say your details without a leaflet and formulate the goals of the trip – the consular officer will be alert and ask additional questions to confirm their concerns. At best, additional questions will not confirm the concerns of the consular officer and the visa will be approved, or you will be called for an additional interview. In the worst case, such an interview will result in a visa refusal.
These are the main, most common grounds for refusing a visa, but this list is not exhaustive and there are many other grounds for refusal.

What to do if one of the reasons affects you?
The most important thing is not to give up. The refusal on most of the grounds is not final and, as a rule, you just need to fill in or convey the missing documents (often, the refusal indicates what is missing). In other cases, they may be called for an interview to clarify the provided personal data and information contained in the supporting documents.
However, in cases where there are suspicions about the financial viability of the tourist or the intention of the tourist to work illegally abroad, everything is much more complicated. In this case, it is necessary to submit to the consulate bank printouts (certificates, statements) with a sufficient amount of funds, as well as a certificate from work indicating the level of income, or a sponsorship letter (if the trip is sponsored by relatives, the organization). As already mentioned, each country has different legislation and, accordingly, different financial criteria, namely, how much you can enter its territory for what time period. But if consular officers find that you earn too little or your work is temporary, the visa will not be approved.
The territorial attachment of a tourist is a difficult to prove basis. For each country, there is a criterion for confirming this basis. Proof in this case will serve as the presence of family, property, business, in some countries even the presence of pets is a confirmation.
Of course, the most dangerous and difficult test when obtaining a visa is an interview.
It will be a shame if after all the difficulties with the documents, you will be let down by nervous tension during the interview. Here it is enough to pull yourself together, read all your documents, rehearse answers to some of the most popular questions that are asked at the interview (you can always see them on the forums).
Summing up the article, it should be remembered that when applying for a visa, it is important to:
1. See the list of documents required to obtain a visa of the country of destination.
2. When filling out documents, be attentive to details.
3. It is always better to be safe, the more documents confirming your data, the better.
4 Control. This is especially important in the interview.
5. They're not afraid to ask for help. If you doubt that you can prepare a package of papers and fill out questionnaires yourself, it is better to contact the competent authorities: visa centers and tourist organizations themselves (operators or agents), which provide a list of documents necessary for a visa, check the correctness and completeness of the information provided, transfer documents to the embassy and communicate with representatives of the embassy.
6. Do not give in to despair when refusing a visa.
