Cape Verde: Feel no-stress
Cape Verde - what can you imagine when you hear the name of this country? Exotic, romantic, mysterious, and most importantly... Where is it? The resort is not popular with the masses of tourists.
But this country is incredibly attractive because it gives you the opportunity to relax from the dusty bustling cities and life in non-stop mode.
Cape Verde Islands - the second name of the archipelago - are located in the region of West Africa. Cape Verde includes 10 large and 8 smaller islands, whose shores are washed by the Atlantic Ocean. The most touristic islands are Santiago, Santo Vincente, Sal, Boashvita and Fogo. The pioneers of the republic were the Portuguese, they brought their language to the islands. Creole and French are also spoken in the country.

Nature and climate
Despite the romantic name, the climate of Cape Verde is quite dry, rain is rare here. Do not fade from the arid heat help the proximity of the ocean and winds blowing on the islands almost continuously.
Rare to see and flowering trees with lawns. Instead, the so-called “lunar landscape” appears to the eye. The landscape of the islands is almost devoid of vegetation.

What to do and what to see?
Praia
Praia is the capital of the republic on Santiago Island. Translated from Portuguese "Praya" means "beach". Praia Beach, Cuebra Canela and Gamboa Beach are the most popular places on the coast.
The history of Praia is kept by Albuquerque Square, next to it is an architectural ensemble from the Presidential Palace, the Ethnographic Museum and the City Hall. Excursion to urban places can be perfectly complemented by a walking promenade along the most beautiful street of Praia - Amilcar Cabral Alley and a visit to the Boa Entrada National Park.
Mindelo
The nightlife of Cape Verde is concentrated in Mindel, the island of Santo Vincente. If Praia is the political center of the country, Mindelu is its entertainment capital. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a lively holiday allows local pubs, restaurants and cafes.
The main attraction of Mindelu is the depths of the Atlantic Ocean, attractive to divers from all over the world. In the depths of the ocean there are many sunken ships. Long since they became sea ruins, they harmoniously merged with the landscape of the ocean floor.
Fans of outdoor activities can try themselves in sports fishing. Any local resident for a small fee will tell you about all the subtleties of fishing from a boat or shore. More expensive is Big Game, or Catching the Blue Marlin. Such fishing requires renting a high-speed yacht with a team of fishermen.
Complement the catalog of active entertainment available on the island tennis courts and golf courses.
For passive rest, wide beaches of Mindelu are created. Praia Grande and San Pedro are required to visit.

In the past, the Cape Green Islands were volcanoes. But the fire element did not cease to boil in the crater of the volcano of the eponymous island of Fogo. Today, among all the once active volcanoes, only he does not sleep. Fogo is the highest point of the archipelago. Its summit reaches a height of 2829 meters. Fogo is part of the chain of complex mountain formation - the Caldera, but most tourists go to the island solely for the sake of this volcano.
The main occupation of the islanders is winemaking. Surprisingly, grapes here are grown directly in volcanic soils. Thanks to this, in the menu of local establishments you can find a business card Fogo - ice white wine. You can taste the drink in the Pipi’s bar in San Filipi, beloved by many tourists, sitting on wooden uncomplicated chairs with the characteristic name of Cape Verde no stress.

Sal Island
No stress is the motto of the island of Sal, which embodies the lifestyle of the Kaboverdians. This inscription can be seen on souvenirs and T-shirts of local residents. In the city, you can face the fact that the bank does not work on weekends, Aboriginal people are fleeing the heat under palm trees right in the center of the city, and the Internet you connected a couple of days ago still “did not reach” your smartphone. Such slowness in everything helps to plunge into the atmosphere of rest and tranquility.
Also on the island of Sal is one of the world's largest windsurfing centers near the town of Santa Maria. There are about 6 surfing clubs all over the island. For beginners, the beach with the shallow Morabez Bay is suitable, and surfers train more experiencedly and compete on the beach of Punta Preta.
What to eat?
The national cuisine of the Cape Verde Islands is as simple as possible. In all Cape Verde restaurants you can try fresh sea fish.
The main national dish is kachupa. The composition includes beans and corn. According to local belief, the more ingredients in cachup, the richer it is. It is said that every island has its own recipe. Average price tag: 10-15 euros.
Where to stay?
There is a good hotel service on the islands. In this regard, Cape Verde is a Europeanly combed Africa. You can choose a hotel by specialization on a certain type of holiday. For example, there are a lot of hotels on Sal with points of equipment for surfing and windsurfing.
Experienced tourists are advised not to book a hotel in advance in the dead season (April - October). You can find a room cheaper at this time in person, already in the country. Perfect for a budget travel. It is important to note that the final cost of living depends on the use of electricity and water.
