Winter Bulgaria

For many tourists Bulgaria- exclusively summer resort, but this country has something to surprise you in one of the most romantic times of the year.

Pine trees to the sky, wrapped in a shawl of snow, frozen lakes, as from a fairy tale, excellent ski resorts, after which it is pleasant to spend time in the SPA complex, here they are in abundance. Have you decided where you will spend the New Year holidays? Bulgaria is the perfect place for this.

How do I get there?

It is not difficult to obtain a visa to Bulgaria, especially if the purpose of the trip is to travel. To obtain an entry permit, you will need a standard package of documents, as well as a consular fee of 35 EUR. Applications are considered within four working days, not taking into account the day of submission, but we advise you to submit documents one month before the planned trip, if possible. In case of refusal, you can submit the request again. But if you need a visa urgently, you can issue it in two days, paying a consular fee of 70 EUR.

There will be no problems with customs, taking into account some rules:

• It is forbidden to import/export local currency;
a ban on the transportation of dairy and meat products (with the exception of baby food);
Without special permission, you will not be able to bring and export items that are of historical, archaeological or artistic value.
• Drugs, weapons, poisons, etc. are prohibited.

Sofia, Burgas, Varna and Plovdiv have airports on their territory. There are no direct flights from Yekaterinburg, you need to fly with a transfer. The best route with a transfer in Moscow, will take about eight hours. If you need to get to another city in the Bulgarian capital Sofia, you should not buy a ticket. Air traffic within the country is poorly developed, unlike railway networks. Don't like trains? Buses run between cities regularly, there are two options: a budget bus (municipal, comfort level - medium) and private (comfort level is much higher). With a taxi in Bulgaria you need to be careful: private tourists assure that they are official taxi drivers, but in fact the fee is higher and security is in question.

If you are not satisfied with the option of public transport, you can easily rent a car in Bulgaria. This will require international law and the driver must be over 21 years old. One of the most important rules: do not drive after drinking alcohol. For this, Bulgaria faces a real term.

Where to stay?

The place to stay should be chosen depending on the purpose of your trip. If you fly to Bulgaria for a quiet rest, walks, SPA or improve your health, then you should pay attention to the city of Velingrad. There are about 80 mineral springs, a mild mountain climate, and are treated for almost all diseases. For ski holidays suitable cities such as Bansko, Borovets, Pomporovo.

The choice of housing you will not be small: from inexpensive three-star hotels, to small houses-villas with a fireplace and a bath for 2-3 families. It all depends on your budget. Even for those who want to combine the two types of holidays, there is a great option: the city of Devin. It is located in the central part of the Rhodope Mountains, the climate here is mild, the springs are healing, and the Pamporovo ski resort is only 35 kilometers away.

Meals in hotels are usually at the level of breakfast in the format of “buffet”.

Try what?

Clayware, spicy condiments, vegetables, brynza, wine and many other components that create traditional Bulgarian cuisine.
What do you need to try in Bulgaria?

Salad "Shop" - fresh vegetables, cheese brynza, cheese "shop".
• "Kebabche" - meat sausages made of minced meat, spices and greens.
"Tarator" - Bulgarian cold soup is somewhat similar to our okroshka. In the composition: cucumber, kefir, mineral water, pine nut.
• local wines: Pamid, Galatea, Gymza and others.
• local cheeses: “cough” from cow and sheep’s milk and “sirene” from sheep’s milk.

Where to go?

More than ten ski complexes take tourists on the territory of Bulgaria. From the capital of the country - Sofia, you can get in an hour and a half to the most famous resort Borovets. Trails of varying difficulty, evening skating, bars and clubs await you in Borovets.
Near the capital is another ski resort - Vitosha. More than 30 kilometers of trails, many are suitable for those who are just starting to master skiing.

Pamporovo is famous for a thick layer of snow, gentle slopes that are perfect for beginners and the neighborhood with balneological centers.
On the mountain slopes of Pirin is one of the most beloved tourist ski complexes of Bansko. This resort is considered democratic in terms of pricing. And the famous forest track, whose length is 11 kilometers, has long won the hearts of ski fans. One of the advantages of this resort is the neighborhood with lakes. There are about 200 of them.

You can talk about Bulgaria for a long time: about its traditions, the hospitality of the locals, almost magical water, ski resorts, slightly inferior to the Alpine, about dizzying landscapes, and ski slopes, breathtaking. Once in Bulgaria, whether in summer or winter, you will definitely want to return.
