What does ROH mean when choosing a hotel?

Before buying a ticket, tourists think about the most important components of a full and inspiring holiday. All components of rest can be divided into several points:

 

1) direction - country, resort;

(2) price means the cost of the tour, including unforeseen costs;

3) hotel - hotel level, quality of service;

4) the location of the hotel relative to the city centre or the beach;

5) beach - the presence of the beach at the hotel, or the distance of the beach from the hotel;

(6) number - room class;

7) transport - flight, transfer from the airport to the hotel and back.

 

The room is not in vain allocated as a separate item, because often tourists are more interested in the class of the hotel and its location relative to the beach or city center. Often a tourist is willing to pay for an expensive hotel on a territorial basis, but at the same time a tourist, wanting to save money, is not ready to pay a lot for the room itself.

 

In this regard, tourists book the cheapest rooms offered by the hotel - standard or economy.

But what kind of rest without a view? Booking rooms (even standard) tour operators and hotels are interested in the tourist: "What view from the window would be a priority room?". The cost depends on the species. As a rule, the holidaymaker chooses a room based on the purpose of the trip. For example:

 

1. Relax in a room overlooking the beach. Every day I look out the window, drinking tea and reading my favorite book.

2. Relax in a room with mountain views. Looking out the window with a mug of hot chocolate, imagining climbing the slopes of the mountains higher and higher, and then going down them on skis.

3. Just sleep over. Active rest. In the hotel, the traveler appears only at the end of the day and disappears at dawn, fleeing for a new excursion or trying to take the best place on the beach. There is no room and view from the window.

 

It is the latter category of tourists who face the greatest number of questions regarding the room class and its location. Travelers entrust the choice of a room to the tour operator, often these are the numbers of the standard class. However, some tour operators offer travel enthusiasts to save as much as possible on the room class and offer a "ROH" class.

 

ROH - run of the house - accommodation at the discretion of the hotel. In this case, the assignment of a specific room and accommodation of a tourist occurs upon his arrival at the hotel. The hotel administration places the tourist not in a room of a specific price category or class, but in any room available at the time of check-in in any hotel building.

 

Rooms of the ROH class differ from the rest in that when settling in, it is unknown what category the hotel will provide to the tourist: standard, economy, suite, with a balcony, on the roof or on the ground floor, with views of the mountains, beach or wall, over the mangal area or over the dance floor, in the main building, far or annex.

 

Rooms of ROH class are much cheaper than rooms of other categories, but the price does not affect the quality of tourist service and the quality of rooms. If the hotel policy provides for daily room cleaning, the presence of a window, air conditioning, bathroom, high-quality repair, then in the cheapest rooms of this hotel of the most “simple” class, all this will be provided.

 

 

 

 

Price. ROH is ideal for those who want to save money.

 

Quality of service. If the hotel policy provides for a high level of service, then tourists staying in ROH rooms will also be provided with a high level of service.

 

There is a chance to stay in a room of a higher level than originally expected by the tourist.

 

Unpredictability. It is manifested in the fact that the tourist recognizes the class of the room only in the hotel. When settling in, people will settle in a currently available room and at the discretion of the manager and the hotel administration. The administration in this case does not guarantee a beautiful view from the window and a favorable neighborhood.

 

Stress. Unpredictability is often stressful, as tourists, despite the obvious savings, worry about the class of room they will get and the neighborhood they will have to put up with. For many travelers, the neighborhood of a dance floor or mangal area is comparable to life in a circus arena. This factor negatively affects the health of the tourist and the quality of rest.

 

Each tourist, when buying a tour, should check with the tour operator or directly with the hotel representative (if the room is booked independently), the advantages and disadvantages of the rooms provided by the hotels, as well as their categories.

 

Knowing the categories of rooms that the hotel gives, a tourist can avoid the negative aspects associated with the purchase of the ROH room category, which will lead to a full and healthy rest without stress.

 

In the end, it is worth saying that you should not be afraid of ROH numbers just because of their unpredictability, since the purpose of the trip is to relax and enjoy new experiences.
