What is the Schengen Multivisa and why is it needed?
A visa is a unifying concept, it gives the right to enter and exit to a certain country, and is divided into types, according to the number of trips, for single, double and multiple ie multi-visa.
Accordingly, the Schengen multi-visa is a special document that allows you to freely enter and leave the territory of any of the 26 countries that have signed the Schengen Agreement, an unlimited number of times within the deadline set by the consulate. The convenience is that you do not have to open a visa to one of the Schengen countries every time, thereby saving your money, time and nerves. Of the advantages, you can also note the opportunity to fly on “burning tickets” to the EU countries, and even move through them, since you will already have a valid visa, which means you will only have to pack a suitcase!
But unlimited travel does not mean a 24/7/365 stay in Europe. For 2018, Russians are issued coveted multivisas for strictly defined terms: 6 months, 1, 2, 3 and 5 years, and the number of days should not exceed 90 for 6 months or 180 for 12 months. For example, each time you fly on a business trip to Europe for 15 days. In January you are in France, in February in Latvia, in March in Germany, in April in Finland, and in June decided to relax for 30 days on the coast of Spain. Total: 90 days per half year. You will not be able to return to the Schengen area until July.
That's right! With a business visa you have the right to work and rest, but with a tourist visa you are not allowed to get a job in the Schengen area. This is a serious violation.
In addition to tourist visas and business visas, there are also study and guest visas. Tourist visa can be called the most popular and easily accessible. According to travelers, it is the easiest to issue, for other purposes you will need to provide a strong argument to the consulate. It can be an invitation of business partners, if you need a business visa, from relatives who are in Europe on a permanent basis, if a guest visa or accreditation of an educational institution, if a visa is a student. More information about multi-visa registration:
The Schengen multi-visa is opened by analogy with ordinary visas. Getting a multiple entry visa is an order of magnitude more difficult than a single or double entry, since there are more requirements for the recipient. The probability of becoming a multi-visa holder is higher for those who have already received visas and have a good visa history. Also, the consulate will conduct a more thorough analysis of all data, and the purpose of the stay should be strictly defined. But the complexity of the registration depends on the consulate.

Schengen countries may have different requirements for the procedure for issuing a multi-visa, but there is a basic list:
1.Foreign passport
2.Two photos according to the ICAO standard
3 Copies of all pages of the Russian passport
4.Visa data you have previously received
5.Medical insurance (its duration should correspond to the length of time you will spend in the Schengen countries)
6. Bank statement on your account with sufficient amount to stay in the Schengen countries (the amount depends on the number of days on the trip and the consulate of the country that issues you a visa)
7.Documents confirming the intention to return to their country (proof can be: certificate from the place of work, real estate or car)
8 Information about you as an employed citizen
9.Work book (original and copy)
10. Agreed visa application form completed and signed by the applicant
The timeframe for obtaining a visa depends on the country’s specific consulate and season. On average, it is 5-10 days, but the issuance may be delayed.

There are many more rules for registration of multivisa:
1. It is advisable to get it at the consulate of the country where you plan to spend the most time.
2.You should pay attention to the requirements of the consulate of the country in which you will receive a visa. Some countries such as Finland, Spain, Italy and Poland are more willing to issue multi-visas than Germany, Belgium and Austria.
3. This procedure should be taken very seriously. Provide the consulate with comprehensive, up-to-date and reliable information about themselves. The consulate may have doubts on various grounds.
4. When you receive a visa, make sure that all the information contained in it is correct.
After obtaining a visa, do not forget about the visa rules, so as not to violate the law. A small mistake can lead to big consequences!
First, deadlines must be met.
It is important to observe the period of stay permitted by your visa. Abuse and overstaying may result in you being deported and a visa ban for a certain period of time. The visa is activated on the day when you first used it after receiving it and crossed the state border of the Schengen country. This is where the first 180 days start. Therefore, the half-year period for each individual. When the number of days allowed to stay in the Schengen territory has expired, the traveler needs to return to their country, regardless of whether the visa expires.
Secondly, the multi-visa does not give the guest an automatic right to enter another country, that is, you need to pass border control, providing information. Therefore, when traveling, be sure to bring with you copies of the documents that you submitted when requesting a visa.
Despite the difficulty in obtaining a Schengen multi-visa, it remains the best option for many people who do not want to waste time and effort on obtaining a new visa, but want to enjoy free movement in the Schengen countries!
