Should I make copies of documents on the road?

And if everything is simple with clothes, food and hygiene items, because you can buy on the spot (unless, of course, you go to a desert or a desert island), then collecting documents should be approached with all seriousness.

 

In many cases, the question arises: Should I take copies of documents? I'll say it right away. Just in case, for reinsurance, because being undocumented in a foreign country and the rest of the vacation to run from the police to the embassy and back, trying to restore a passport is not the best pastime.

 

 

Before leaving, make copies of the main pages of your passport (both foreign and domestic) and be sure to certify them with a notary. If your passport is lost, a copy will speed up the process of recovering documents and will be able to confirm your identity. If you are afraid of losing a copy, take a passport scan and send it to your email.

 

The same should be done with a visa, insurance and an international driving license (if, of course, it is available). It won't be too much.

 

Techniques can fail at the most inopportune moment, so you can print out a hotel reservation confirmation and e-tickets to avoid being in an awkward situation at the check-in desk or at Reception.

 

Going on vacation with children, be sure to bring a copy of the birth certificate (even if you have a passport).

 

When packing your suitcase, make sure the originals and copies are in different places. Hide documents in secret pockets and the most secluded places, prepackaging them in a folder or file. So they will not cringe, not get wet and will remain safe and sound.
