Where to begin acquaintance with the city to the guests of the Ural capital?

Beautiful and comfortable areas for walking are located in the center ekaterinburg along the banks of the Iset River. The heart of the Ural city is a factory, at the base of which lies a dam forming a city pond.

This is the Museum of Fine Arts of Yekaterinburg. Here are stored real treasures - and paintings from the saved Hermitage, and wonders of the Faberge company, and Kaslin casting.

In spring and summer there is a competition of works of young stone cutters of the region. Come vote for your favorite creation – surprise and delight are guaranteed!

Bring children to the Museum of Nature, colorful dioramas with the inhabitants of forests and lakes of the Middle Urals will be remembered for a long time.

The Museum of Architecture and Design unfolds a panorama of styles and eras of urban planning. Here you can see in detail models of famous buildings of Yekaterinburg. The museum constantly holds fairs and master classes of folk crafts, which will please the whole family.

Near the museum there is an open exhibition of old factory mechanisms. Hammers and smelters surround the monument to Peter I, the founder of factory construction in the Urals.

Did you know that the water tower on Plotinka was residential for a long time? And now they are ready to shelter tired travelers. The Tower has a guest center, a souvenir shop and a coffee shop, as well as an exposition about the Historical Square.

You can finish the day off at the Theater. Children's performances begin at 11 and 16 o'clock, so you can schedule a walk along the Plotinka both before and after the performance.

From Historical Square to Lunacharsky Street

At a distance of one kilometer from the Historic Square are the Opera and Ballet Theatre and the Puppet Theatre. Children's performances begin at 10 and 11 o'clock.

Fans of science can visit the Planetarium program at 12 Tolmachev. The planetarium is part of the "Salute" multiplex. So after diving into the depths of the universe, you can watch a movie. In "Salute" often held festival screenings of paintings from different countries.

Folk art lovers from Plotinka should go to Gogol Street, where the Gamayun Museum Center is located (Gogol 20/5). The Gamayun always welcomes guests and is ready to offer master classes and interactive programs.

If you move further along Engels Street, you can get acquainted with several sights of Yekaterinburg. This is a monument of Art Nouveau House Kruglyashov, Museum of Naive Art and Museum of Nevyansk Icon, Museum of Radio named after A.S. Popov.

You can complete a walk along Engels Street at the Yekaterinburg Zoo.

 

Beyond the bridge.

The actual city pond opens beyond the Lenin Avenue crossing Iset. Very beautiful panorama of the stadium-ship "Dynamo" and the ensemble of the Governor's Palace behind the fabulous patterned House of Sevastyanov.

If you want to spend the weekend interesting and useful, as well as to celebrate a visit to the cult object, you should choose a walk along the Embankment of Working Youth to the Yeltsin Center.

In addition to the main exhibition, the Yeltsin Center provides a variety of wonderful forms of leisure for children, from reading aloud to robotics.

The crossing of the Makarov bridge to the opposite bank opens a beautiful panorama of the city from the water. You can visit the match of basketball teams “Ural” and “UMMC” in the Palace of gaming sports. Tickets for UMMC matches are distributed free of charge by activists near the DIVS. There is a monument to the legendary coach Nikolai Karpol and athletes of the volleyball club “Uralochka”.

Ascension Hill and Literary Quarter

The Ascension Hill is a special center of spirituality and family culture. In front of the Temple-on-Blood there is a monument to the family of Nicholas II, the Tsarsky Museum Center operates. Entrance is free (any donation can be voluntarily left when leaving the museum). The expositions of the Center are distinguished by historical depth and detail.

Nearby is the Park of the newlyweds, a monument to Peter and Fevronia.

In the Literary Quarter there are museums that convey the atmosphere of life of writers of the Urals in the XIX and XX centuries. In the summer, numerous concerts and interactive programs are held in the quarter.

Where to pamper yourself?

Walking around Ekaterinburg can boost your appetite. Cafes and restaurants are not yet the hallmark of the city, but, focusing on the Internet, you can highlight several pleasant establishments near the Historical Square.

Mammas Big House is a cafe with European cuisine almost on Plotinka. Breakfast is praised, and breakfast in Mammas is not only possible in the morning.

Children's cafe in Yeltsin Center. Delicious, clean, master classes. Coffee box, Espresso Season – coffee shops near the Historic Square. The time-tested Stolle is waiting for you on the waterfront near the Literary Quarter. Kalachi Cafe is located next to the Opera and Ballet Theatre. Not far from the zoo there is a cafe-cake “Sunflowers”.

Of course, any theater traditionally has a buffet. Also, if you are not disgusted by network establishments, then near Plotinka you can find Pizza Mia, Burger King, Fork-Spoon and Space.
