Conscription leave
Outside the window, the 21st century slowly passes, and new technologies in a hurry replace each other. Due to this, the borders and distances between countries are erased, because today to see the world, it is enough to turn on the blue screen, use the Internet and open a glossy magazine.
But all the charms of the world, of course, through the media will not see, and the feeling of a real trip can not be compared with anything. Fortunately, “seeing the world” is not so difficult! If earlier it was necessary to stand long lines for vouchers, now, thanks to numerous tours, the whole world is at hand.
To mention all types of travel – not enough sheet, so let’s get to the point. Whatever your vacation is, it costs a lot. What about those who have not yet earned the right amount? Staying away is stupid! There are plenty of options. And here's one that's good for half the young male population. Guess what? Of course it's the army! But it's not about service. The young man who shared his story with us considers the years of service the most interesting journey.
"From Tyumen to Kamchatka"
When it came time to go to the army, I was not upset, because there were new places and adventures ahead, and behind the back there was only a small village with a little-known name Pykovsky and 30 degrees of frost. At first, the journey did not please me with pleasant emotions: cramped and stuffy in the car, new acquaintances who did not differ in welcomingness, and a gray dull November outside the window. We were not allowed out of the train because of the shoots, so we had to be content with the “charms” of nature flashing through the window – gray snow and bare oil-scorched trees.
Then it was more interesting. The weather and nature itself on the way to Kamchatka changed from snowy plains to high hills, mountains and volcanoes. The eyes of the lakes and rivers were pleasing, especially the endless and bottomless bridges (it seemed that we were about to collapse!). I can’t remember exactly where we went, but I will never forget Baikal. Water, water, water... The beauty is indescribable! Even the other side was not always visible. Of course, I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the lake, because there was a pulp mill nearby, which did not spare the surrounding water. Nevertheless, the impressions are incomparable! In addition, we tried a rare fish, which is found only on Lake Baikal - omul (we sold it from the window). Then we drove through the nearby dense forests, and two conscripts managed to escape. Unfortunately, they were killed by wolves in the forest.
When we were approaching Vladivostok, we were already caught up in December, but the temperature was higher than at home (+2) and there was little snow. By the evening we got off the train and I saw a glowing city. It felt like we were being brought to Las Vegas – a bunch of bright lights! The spectacle is very beautiful, especially on the bay, where the nose of our country was on the map, the whole city was visible. After we were taken on duty inconvenient transport to the airport and on a large cargo plane we went to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the flight was inconvenient and long (3.5 hours), we sat on boxes. Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky also do not forget. Extremely interesting - about 300 huge volcanoes (some even smoked), hills and mountains. You don't see that every day!
And so the service began. After the distribution, I went to the Marines and repaid my debt to my homeland for 706 days. It was a good tempering of spirit and body, for nothing the army is not liked. I strengthened my health there by doing sports in the cold (jogging barefoot, push-ups with bare hands in the snow). In addition to the service, we were surprised by various events and festivals - the most memorable day of Aviation: an exhibition of aircraft from the smallest to forty-ton cargo, and many military helicopters. Surprised air show with paratroopers and flying planes.
Malkinsk waters (Kamchatka). This place is a real resort, we were taken there to rest. The reservoir for me was a natural jacuzzi, we could relax for several hours in hot water, and then run to the icy creek - like in a sauna, only better! Previously, geysers beat at the site of a hot spring, and we even found one hole where a pipe was inserted - water boiled there, and people could even brew tea there or boil eggs. And personally, my colleagues and I cooked from this source an ear of salmon, which in those places was in abundance.
Caviar factory. I remember a trip to the factory every time I hear about caviar. There they caught salmon fish and selected only pregnant females from them to pull out their eggs. But caviar was used exclusively for breeding fish, and the gutted fish was simply thrown away or distributed to employees. The ponds just “infested” with “red gold”, and we had plenty of caviar and fish.
It was such an interesting trip, but it was not without inconveniences and dangerous adventures. In winter, we were plagued by blizzards. To get out of the bunker, it took a long time to dig snow walls. And to reach the "conveniences" themselves was also not easy, it was necessary to cut through the path, and on the way back everything was already noticeable!
At the end of the service, an emergency occurred in which I felt like a hero and lost four front teeth. One night we woke up to loud explosions. About 25 ammunition depots exploded. The glow illuminated the whole district, and the roar was deafening. The panic, the screaming, the fuss were confusing, but we managed to avoid danger. Having made our way through the swampy places, we went to the road where a large truck picked us up. Throughout the service I did not enjoy the favor of superiors, and did not expect good characterization, but on the night of the explosion I was lucky enough to save a human life, and this woman was the wife of a regiment commander.
These two years are remembered as the most unforgettable journey and amazing adventure of my youth. I came back without teeth, but a happy and happy hero!
