The holiday "Altai Wintering" will contribute to the development of ecological tourism in the Altai Territory

On December 12-13, a holiday will be held in the region "Altai Wintering"Timed for the arrival of swans in the Altai Territory. Today's staff. Swan ReserveWhere there are unique warm lakes, there is an increase in the number of tourists. What are the basic rules for organizing ecological tours, will the increased attention of birds hurt? These and other issues will be discussed by the participants of the scientific and practical conference “Using the potential of specially protected natural areas for the development of ecotourism”, which will be held during the holiday.

I am sure that such a big holiday, which is held with the support of the Administration of the Altai Territory and the Ministry of Culture of Russia, will attract the right attention and will contribute to the development of the facility, including the solution of infrastructure issues. Because unique natural objects sooner or later become popular with tourists, and here you need not bans on visits, but the creation of conditions for compliance with environmental rules and norms, said Sergey Malykhin, editor of the newspaper “Nature of Altai”, a participant in the scientific and practical conference.

“A visit to the Swan reserve has already been organized today,” said Andrei Seibert, director of Altaipriroda KGBU. A platform for vehicles has been created, which is located at a considerable distance from the lake, so the noise of cars does not disturb the birds. Tourist groups are on the lake accompanied by a ranger who monitors compliance with the regime of behavior in the reserve.”

What should be done and is already being done to make a natural object a full-fledged tourist attraction? According to experts, first, it is necessary to arrange trails, places of stay of tourists, organized waste disposal. On the days of the holiday, an observation deck will be opened - this is the first big step. Second, information support is very important. Pointers, tables, reference stands and shields – all this should be accessible and understandable. The rules for visiting the lake should contain, including fines for violations. This leads to the third necessary action – control over the implementation of the rules of conduct in the reserve.

During the holiday, tour operators of the Altai Territory will sign an agreement with the Altaipriroda KGBU on organizing excursions and tours on the territory of the Swan Reserve, which will contribute to the development of ecotourism in the Altai.

“Of course, it is necessary to regulate the anthropogenic load on the territory. But even a small object with the right organization can receive a large number of tourists, said Sergey Malykhin. We were on a tour in China, on a small (four times smaller than Teletskogo) lake. It receives up to one and a half million tourists a year, it is about 4 thousand a day, and all this without damage to the lake. Equipped trails, developed rules and monitoring their observance are the basis of ecotourism”.

Participants of the scientific and practical conference “Using the potential of specially protected natural territories for the development of ecotourism” will also discuss issues of ecotourism as a way of environmental education of the population, ethnographic tourism, the specifics of the organization of tourist infrastructure and the formation of a tourist product in specially protected natural areas.
