If you knew the purchase - would live in Sochi

Developed countries that adequately assess the current economic situation in the country deliberately refuse to host the Olympic Games, for example, the government of Canada rejected the proposal to hold the main sporting event of the world in 2024 in Toronto. Russia, as the richest and most socially oriented country, is happy and proud to host the real Olympic Games in Sochi. It is interesting to calculate how much money, in addition to indirect spending on the Olympics itself, an ordinary resident of Yekaterinburg and the region will have to spend to attend the main sports event of the year.

Let’s start with transportation costs: plane or train. A ticket for the Yekaterinburg-Sochi plane with one transfer in Moscow currently costs about 15-20 thousand one way. The cost of railway tickets looks much more pleasant: about 7 thousand rubles - a ticket in a compartment and only 3500 rubles - seat cards. At the same time, of course, the time to reach the Olympic city is significantly increased, and not everyone can endure the three-day romance in the seat card even for the sake of economy.

So, the most exciting thing for which everything is started - tickets directly to the competition.

The most expensive Olympic pleasure will be the opening ceremony: the starting price from 6000 rubles and up to 50 000 rubles for those who want to see in detail how Alina Kabaeva will light the Olympic flame.

The main sporting waste of the purse is tickets for men's ice hockey. The cost of tickets increases in proportion to the excitement of the game: group stages from 500 rubles to 2000, and the final will cost from 1000 rubles to 3500, the semifinal to 7000 rubles, and the final and even up to 34 000 rubles. Favourite Russian figure skating will cost from 1500 to 23 000 rubles, depending on the skating program and the type of competition (team, pairs or demonstration).

For just 500 rubles, you can visit figure skating training and short track, probably, you can also get considerable pleasure from this, just watching famous stars on ice. You can follow the rapidly sweeping biathletes in the thick of the forest for 1500 rubles, if you want to feel the spirit of patriotism of fans on the podium, you will have to pay up to 6500 rubles. Less popular ski races are not much easier to hit the pockets of spectators: the cost of the ticket varies from 1200 to 5000 rubles. Not the most common competitions (kerling, slalom, bobsleigh, snowboard, skeleton) can be seen in general for 2000 - 3000 rubles.

It turns out that the average layman can afford several tickets for some competitions: whether it is a famous competition, in which our country is a contender for a medal, but, accordingly, the seats in the stands will be somewhere high; or less common types of games, but you can watch them from the first rows.

Travel tickets and competitions are not enough. To get to the event itself, each viewer must receive a “Fan Passport”, which can be issued on the spot or ordered in advance. The most interesting thing is that its registration can be refused “without explanation” to any law-abiding citizen. The presence of any criminal record in the past, most likely, will block the path to the Olympic flame in Sochi.

The Olympic expenses must also include accommodation and food. If we take into account a hotel (sanatorium, boarding house) of medium level, located in the settlements closest to Sochi, the cost of living for one day will cost about 2000 rubles excluding food. Of course, if you rush to an apartment on the Red glade, the price will soar a hundred times.

Thus, the most modest stay at the Olympic Games in Sochi will cost potential spectators at least 100,000 rubles, but few will agree to such a “student” regime just to attend this large-scale event. People with a huge desire to be part of the Olympics and a lack of money are looking for other ways, such as volunteering. For the upcoming world competitions, about 25,000 volunteers were recruited, working “for an idea” for the benefit of the country, but not spending a penny for their travel and accommodation. Also, even in our city, some large enterprises choose a few valuable employees with an active life position and send to feel the Olympic madness at the expense of the enterprise.

Currently, all free moves to the Olympic City are closed and it remains only to shell out large sums for attending the main sporting event of the year.
