Language Knowledge: Does It Matter?
Knowledge of a foreign language is never superfluous. His study has become the norm today. People who are familiar with other cultures find it easier to find a job.
But how important is it to know the language when traveling abroad? Undoubtedly, it will be useful to you at the stage of planning a trip, because not all sites have acquired Russifiers. If you do not know English, German or Italian, then a phrasebook will help. He orients you, thanks to him you can quickly remember the most elementary and necessary words, such as: "Thank you", "Hello", "Goodbye". Do not forget that no one is safe from an emergency, keep in reserve such expressions as “I feel bad” or “I was robbed”.
In case of a situation in which the words you need are not in the phrasebook, try to gesture what you need. One Canadian told how he communicates in Spanish restaurants: he walks in and points his finger at some attractive food on the tables, then at himself, and raises one finger up!
But if a small amount of knowledge is enough to travel abroad, then in order to live and work there, you need to be more seriously engaged in a foreign language. Sign up for special courses or hire a tutor, communicate with foreigners, even learn to think in a foreign language! After all, the most important thing is practice, and patience and perseverance will help you master a foreign language.
