Chemist Day

Chemistry Day has been celebrated since 1966.May is the month of sun and hope. The last Sunday of this month is the most joyful and wonderful holiday for all teachers and students of the Faculty of Chemistry.

Each university has a chemistry faculty with a mandatory Chemist Day. In addition, for many graduates, Chemist’s Day is the only way to gather and remember the old days.

The holiday has been celebrated since 1981, according to the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 1, 1980 “On festive and memorable days” on the last Sunday of May. But it is officially, and informally, even informally, the Day of Chemistry began to be celebrated in 1966. Since then, the celebration takes place under the sign of the chemical elements of the Mendeleev table. The first Chemist’s Day became Hydrogen Day, the first element of the Periodic System.
