Victory Day

Description:

Victory!!!
For the sake of peace, about 27 million Soviet people laid their heads on the altar of the Fatherland. In the fire of the second world burned and three million Belarusians. There is not a single family in the guerrilla republic that is not affected by this damned war.

It is not surprising that May 9 is one of the brightest holidays in Belarus.

Congratulations to the President of Belarus on Victory Day:

“Dear fellow countrymen! Dear veterans! I congratulate you on a great holiday - Victory Day.

It is infinitely dear to the Belarusian people, who together with millions of Soviet people defended the sovereignty of their country in the Great Patriotic War, made a decisive contribution to the liberation of Europe and the entire planet from fascist enslavement.

It was the Belarusians, who were the first to take the blow of Hitler’s Germany, who, like no other, experienced the brunt of the past war. Tormented, but unconquered Belarus, thanks to the exceptional courage and dedication of the entire population, turned into an impregnable fortress for the invaders and entered world history as a partisan republic.

The Belarusian people did not bow their heads before the occupiers and, together with other fraternal peoples of the Soviet Union, became the winner in this most cruel and bloody war of the XX century.

Freedom was won at a price. Only our republic lost every third of its inhabitants in the battle against fascism.

Eternal memory of those who fell for the independence of the Motherland! A small bow to those who survived, who restored the national economy from the ashes.

Victory in the Great Patriotic War became an inexhaustible source of spiritual strength of the Belarusian people, the basis of its authority in the world community.

Today we express our sincere gratitude to the veterans of the Great Patriotic War for their tireless work on patriotic education of young people, for their support in building a strong and prosperous Belarus.

Decades pass, generations change, but the Great Victory - a symbol of national pride, military glory and valor - is forever inscribed in the heroic chronicle of the country.

Dear countrymen! On the day of the national holiday, I wish you good health, happiness, prosperity, success in work and military activities for the sake of a peaceful and bright future of our Fatherland.

Alexander Lukashenko.
