Light industry is the leading branch of the national economy of Belarus, which unites 119 organizations of various forms of ownership, 3 industry institutes and 2 training colleges, 220 objects of commodity production network in the republic and more than 40 abroad. This powerful production potential meets the needs of society for consumer and industrial goods and contributes to improving the quality of life. At the same time, light industry is connected with many related industries and serves the entire economic complex of the country.
The state concern for the production and sale of light industry goods "Bellegprom" is a diversified industrial complex of the republic, including textile, knitwear, sewing, leather, footwear and other sub-sectors. It consists of 119 business entities of various forms of ownership, 100 of which are industrial enterprises. They provide employment to about 90,000 people.
At the enterprises of the concern, technical re-equipment of production continues. To date, the Bellegprom concern is implementing a number of important investment projects, purchasing modern production equipment.
Products manufactured by the enterprises of the concern are in demand today both in domestic and foreign markets. The branded retail network includes more than 183 stores and 748 trade sections in Belarus and 30 own facilities of the distribution network abroad.
Today, Bellegprom enterprises sell their products in more than 50 countries of the world. More than 52% of manufactured goods are exported. The foreign buyer appreciates the products of these enterprises for high quality, naturalness and reasonable prices. The title “Best Goods of the Republic of Belarus” was awarded to 14 enterprises of the concern, among which Svitanak OJSC, Belvest JSC, Dobrush Porcelain Plant, Mogotex OJSC, Kupalinka OJSC and others.
