Day of the Lawyer of Belarus

Themis is the goddess of justice and justice, as well as the guardian of laws.On the first Sunday of December, Lawyer’s Day is celebrated in Belarus.

The establishment of this holiday is, first of all, a tribute to people who protect the rights and legitimate interests of citizens, recognition of the merits of all those who have devoted their lives to the much needed state legal activities. Today, when an open civil society is being created in the Republic of Belarus, in which everyone is equal before the law and has the right to equal protection of rights and legitimate interests, the role of lawyers is especially significant.

The legal profession is multifaceted and has a large number of specializations: lawyer, prosecutor, judge, investigator, personnel specialist, legal adviser, teacher, scientist. In this multitude there is unity, that which is to unite all: the service of Law, Truth, Justice.

Lawyers are entrusted with an important mission to form a legal culture of society, respect for the law, legal policy of the state.

Serving the Law has been and will be the life credo of all Belarusian lawyers, and knowledge, experience and high human qualities ensure the formation of our country as a state of law.
