Animated tour "Minsk through the eyes of its inhabitants"

In this tour you will hear stories from characters who saw and created the history of the city 50, 200, and some 1000 years ago.

First location. Observation deck (souvenir shop in the red bus on Liberty Square). The story of the formation of the life of the city until the end of the XVI century. Here you will learn about the first mention of Minsk in the annals, about the battle on the Nemiga River, about where the Minsk Castle was located. Hear this story from one of the greatest characters in Belarusian history, from the man who has installed the only equestrian monument in the country, from the founder of the Sofia Cathedral in Polotsk – Prince Vseslav the Sorcerer.

Second location. Minsk in the second half of the XVI century after the fire changed its administrative center. Here you will learn about the formation of the historical and modern appearance of Freedom Square. You will hear this from a man who has always known the latest news, gossip and legends of the city - from a newspaper salesman.

Third location. Did you know that after the war Minsk was not to be restored, but to be preserved and made a monument to military operations? But after all, Minsk was restored, and the city increased 50 times! It was a different era, with different symbols and values. You will hear the story about the unique European and world architecture of Independence Avenue from the mouth of an employee whose name we cannot name for a number of reasons, but his red ID will give you confidence that he is telling the truth.

Fourth location. Drive along Independence Avenue, visit the modern October street.

Yazep Drozdovich is a Belarusian painter and graphic artist whose work, unfortunately, was recognized only after his death. And how many other names, people that modernity does not understand? In the city of Minsk you will see a whole street decorated with the works of modern street artists – graffiti artists. The tour will end with a walk around October and acquaintance with modern street art culture. And about this we will tell the young generation of new “drozdovich”.
