Another India. Ladakh: The Himalayas and Secrets of Little Tibet
Description:
Day 1. Welcome to Delhi.
Those who crave an active pastime can walk around Delhi.
You can feel the lively atmosphere of the streets, enjoy the bright colors and sounds of this historic area.
In the evening, we will gather at the common table for a dinner-dating, where we can share our expectations and dreams for the upcoming adventures.
Holidays at a checked hotel in Delhi.
Day 2. Discovery of Little Tibet.
Today we travel to the heart of India - Leh, the former capital of the kingdom of Ladakh, which still keeps the secrets of its rich history. The city, located among the majestic Himalayas, at an altitude of 3,500 meters, seems to hide unimaginable magic behind its clouds.
Welcome to Little Tibet, a place where ancient traditions and breathtaking landscapes converge.
Activate the internal compass and after lunch we will have a unique journey to the most important places of Lech. We will start with the Shanti Stupa, a snow-white symbol of peace and harmony. Standing at its top, you will feel how the world around you freezes, and your eyes rush to the vast expanses of Ladakh. The energy of this place will change you.
A story that is impossible not to touch. Moments worth living.
Lech is not just a place, it is a new view of the world. On this day you can also just relax.
Sleep in Lech.
Day 3. Mysterious Sham Valley.
Today will definitely surprise you. We head to the Sham Valley, a place where every turn of the road promises a new discovery.
First, the Hall of Fame, a memorial where even the air is filled with courage and pride. Here you will feel the power of a true feat - an experience that evokes respect and silence within.
Next up is Magnetic Hill. One of those places where your brain says one thing and your eyes say another. A car standing in a neutral position suddenly begins to move uphill. Such a rare natural phenomenon, recognized as one of the most mysterious in the world. Check it out.
Next is the confluence point of two great rivers: the Indus and Zanskar. It is a sight that silences even the most talkative. Water of two different shades flows at different speeds without mixing at once - a clear demonstration of how nature violates the usual laws of physics.
And then a deep dive into the spirit of Ladakh.
We will visit a monastery that is over a thousand years old. It is the only Buddhist temple in the region built not on top but on the banks of the Indus River. The effect of surprise enhances perception - here it is easy to feel a special calm, as if the air itself breathes the silence of centuries.
In the evening we return to Lech, where you will find a cozy hotel and time for a soft digestion of impressions.
This day will forever remain in your personal archive.
Day 4: Nubra Valley, following the caravans.
Start the day with a real achievement: you will climb one of the highest roads on the planet - through the Khardung La Pass (5,359 m). The fact that you are here is history.
Behind the pass lies the Nubra Valley, or as it is called by the locals, the Valley of Flowers - a contrast of harsh mountains and gentle nature, which seems almost impossible at such a height. This place has long been hidden from tourist routes, and still there is a special purity of space - a rarity in the world where everything is already inhabited.
We will visit the Disquit Monastery, the oldest in Nubra. It was founded in the Xiv century and, like all great things, built with a view on a hill, from where a dizzying panorama opens. Ancient Tibetan manuscripts are kept here. It is a place where time seems to slow down and everything inside becomes clearer.
Next we have the village of Hundar - and another break of the pattern. At this moment, you are not just a tourist - you are a participant in history, a traveler in the footsteps of ancient caravans.
We stay overnight in the Nubra Valley to experience the rhythm of this amazing land.
Day 5. Pangong Lake: where the sky meets water.
Today you will see what people are willing to cross half the world for. We will go to Pangong Lake - the pearl of the Himalayas, located at an altitude of 5250 meters. It lies on the border with Tibet and occupies a special place not only on the map, but in the heart of everyone who saw it.
There is an opinion that Pangong is the most beautiful lake in India, and it is difficult to argue with this. Its waters can change color from azure to silvery gray during the day, reflecting the mood of the sky and light.
The road to the lake itself is like a journey into myth. We will drive along the rugged Shayok River, surrounded on both sides by snow-capped peaks and landscapes that are breathtaking.
Pangong is also a symbol of a deep connection with nature. There's no cell phone, no internet, no rush. Just the water, the sky and you.
Overnight by the lake. Not just night, but your personal Himalayan magic.
Day 6. Visiting the locals.
We go to Changtang - the majestic highland region of Ladakh, where real nomads still live.
Their way of life is not a museum reconstruction, but a living culture that is about to disappear. This is a rare opportunity to touch a unique way of life, almost lost in the modern world.
We will try the salty Tibetan tea, a drink that is not appreciated in the city, but in the cold air of Changtang, it becomes a warm breath of real life.
The background to everything is the mountain horizons and the silence in which every sound becomes important. This is the perfect place for strong photos: with deep shadows, wind in the hair and genuine truth in the frame.
Day 7. Back to Lech.
Today we return to where our Himalayan journey began: Leh. But now it's not the same Lech, and you're not the person who came here the first day.
The way back is through the Chang La Pass (5,360 m), one of the highest on the planet.
On the way, stunning landscapes are waiting for you again: winding serpentine, sparkling peaks, transparent air - all this creates a special mood of calm strength.
In the afternoon - free time in Lech. You can stroll through the Tibetan Bazaar, where locals and travelers share smiles, stories and crafts. Or you can just sit down with a cup of masala and let your thoughts go.
Lech is no longer just a point on the map, but part of your personal geography of experiences.
Day 8. The palaces and monasteries of Ladakh.
Today we dive into that part of Ladakh that makes it majestic. We will visit the most iconic monasteries and royal palaces, holding not just walls and artifacts, but the living force of tradition, power and faith.
One of the monasteries is Tiksei, a monastery that cannot be forgotten. It seems to spread along the hillside, rushing to the sky, and often causes instant recognition: its architecture is strikingly similar to the legendary Potala Palace in Lhasa, which gives the moment a weight of historical context.
Back to Lech tonight.
Day 9. Farewell to the Himalayas.
Morning is calm, a little meditative.
We arrange a timely transfer to the airport so that you feel confident and collected.
But it's not just a road to the airport. This is the moment when you look at Lech from another level. You didn't just visit Ladakh. You lived it. Your experience stays with you: in pictures, fragrances, landscapes, the taste of salted tea and history.
We don’t say goodbye, we say goodbye before we meet in other countries.
