Men or women: who travels more in Russia?
The Biletix service published statistics: Russian men are less likely to be tourists – they do not often travel and spend very little on tickets.
The press service of the service reports: recently, the share of purchases of air tickets by women is slowly increasing, and among the stronger sex, tourist activity is decreasing. In 2019, men accounted for 47% of air ticket sales, in 2018 - 48.1%, in 2017 - 48.5%.
Men travel in 30-35 years most often. In 2018, this age accounted for 15.8% of airline ticket sales.
Global trend: only 45% of Russian tourists are ready to bear the costs while traveling with their other half. 3% of men do not mind going to rest at the expense of their chosen one.
Employees meta-search engine Momondo in the study found that 5% of travelers are willing to pay for vacation for their men, and 31% go at the expense of their soul mates.
32% of respondents say they split the spending in half. 5% of men and 1% of women say they prefer to travel without their partners.
E. Bashkirova, a sociologist, Candidate of Philosophy notes: “Women’s independence and economic independence are increasingly increasing, more and more women, focusing on Europe, consider it correct to pay for their holidays.”
