Russian Railways suspends the sale of tickets to common cars

The Federal Antimonopoly Service did not make a decision on the level of tariffs for passenger transportation for 2018, and on November 3, the sale of tickets for seat cards and common cars for long-distance trains (departing from January 1, 2018) stopped. Now you can buy other categories of tickets - this decision will not affect high-speed trains and Sapsanov.

Russian Railways says it will start selling tickets after pricing is determined. Passengers can return the difference in price or are advised to hand over tickets without penalties in case they differ from the current ones. The compensation and refund process will be established later.

One of the latest innovations for passengers is the increase in the sale of tickets for long-distance trains in Russia. Earlier on some trains, it was possible to do this 45 days before departure, and since December last year, the depth of sales for all trains has increased to 60 days.

Earlier it was reported that since January 2017, the cost of a trip in a seat card (the fare is regulated by the FAS) increased by an average of 3.7% compared to 2016, which is lower than the planned indexation.
