On December 7-9, the main medical project of the Urals on the problem of maternal and child health was held in Yekaterinburg

On December 7-9, Yekaterinburg hosted one of the brightest events in the Ural region in the field of maternal and child health - the project "Child and Mother". ECATERINBURG 2010”. The event brought together a scientific conference on obstetrics, gynecology, perinatology, neonatology, pediatrics and a specialized business exhibition. The event was organized by: the Ministry of Health of the Sverdlovsk region, the Health Department of the Administration of Yekaterinburg, FSU "Ural Research Institute of OMM" of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Russia, FPC GOU HPO "Ural State Medical Academy of Roszdrav" company RTE-Group. Official support for the event was provided by the Russian Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Union of Pediatricians of Russia.


The key event of the event was the Final Jubilee Scientific Session of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Ural State Medical Academy of Roszdrav and OMM Research Institute of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Russia, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of UGMA: “Successful reproduction: the path from doctor to patient” and “Modern opportunities of perinatology and pediatrics”. More than 300 speakers – leading specialists of the Ural region and Russia – made the scientific program. Numerous plenary sessions, symposiums and round tables covered various topical issues of motherhood and childhood. Experts discussed topical issues of innovative technologies in perinatal science, the application of new approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of major female diseases, problems of training young personnel and their adaptation, problems and prospects for the development of pediatrics, the main directions of the service of obstetrics and childhood and many other issues. Specialized certificates were issued as part of the system of continuous professional development.


All three days from 7 to 9 December was a specialized exhibition. The exposition “Child and Mother: Yekaterinburg 2010” presented foreign and domestic manufacturers and distributors of pharmaceuticals, medical and diagnostic equipment, medical devices, hygiene products and goods for pregnant, lactating women, newborns, baby food. Such companies as STADA CIS, Abbott Products, Gideon Richter, Novartis Consumer Health, Ranbaxi Laboratories Limited, the largest manufacturers of medicines, presented their innovative pharmaceuticals and vitamin complexes for obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, perinatology, neonatology.
During the three days of work, the exhibition-conference was visited by more than 2,000 people, including 80% - obstetricians, gynecologists, pediatricians, neonatologists, pharmacists, heads of various medical institutions and other specialists. According to registration data, most of them live in Yekaterinburg. 20% of visitors came to the exhibition from the cities of the Sverdlovsk region (Kamensk-Ural, Nizhny Tagil, Pervouralsk, etc.). 20% of all visitors came from such cities as Chelyabinsk, Perm, Kurgan, Izhevsk, Orenburg, Tyumen, Salekhard, Moscow, etc.
