Aeroflot and Russia introduce fares for travelers without luggage

From April 2, Aeroflot and Russia will introduce baggage-free tariffs for parts of medium-haul destinations. At the same time, tariffs will be retained, which include the cost of baggage transportation.

The company is confident that this decision will help reduce the price of the ticket to 30%. Aeroflot CEO Vitaly Saveliev told reporters earlier that the company was going to increase the share of non-aviation revenues in profits from 6% to 20%.

“The introduction of baggage-free fares will reduce the price of economy class tickets. In some areas, the minimum tariff will be reduced by up to 30%.”

The airline noted that baggage-free fares were added at the request of passengers. Previously, some travelers paid for the transportation of missing checked baggage.

On flights of the airline "Russia" (commercial management of "Aeroflot") baggage-free fares are added on medium-haul routes.

On Aeroflot flights, fares are added for transportation to megacities Germany: Berlin, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Munich, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Hanover, Dresden, and Italy: Rome, Milan, Venice, Bologna, Naples and Verona.

Information on the cost of additional luggage at baggage-free fare is not yet available.
