Aeroflot switches to domestic reservation system
Aeroflot CEO Sergey Aleksandrovsky said during a meeting of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy that the company will switch to the domestic booking system from November 1.
Rostec said in May that it was ready to urgently connect Aeroflot and other airlines to Leonardo’s domestic ticket booking system within 24 hours if foreign airlines were disabled due to international sanctions.
The state corporation announced that Aeroflot will switch to the domestic ticket booking system this summer.
Domestic software Leonardo was developed by Rostec and the company Sirena-Travel. The system is designed to protect the personal data of passengers and replace foreign booking services.
Western countries because of the military operation in Ukraine imposed a number of sanctions against Russia. The EU has banned the supply of civilian aircraft and spare parts to Russia, and lessors were obliged to break contracts with Russian airlines.
