Strict rules for carrying carry-on baggage began to operate on February 15, but passengers began to speak out against - most often the bags exceeded the size of the calibrator by 2-3 cm in height, and they had to be taken into luggage, although they were previously placed in the cabin.
On the airline’s website, it is reported that the dimensions of hand luggage are increased from 20 to 25 cm in height. Musicians will be allowed to carry on board instruments whose sum of three dimensions is not 115, as before, but 135 cm. If the guitar exceeds these dimensions, it will be possible to arrange its transportation through representatives of the carrier 36 hours before departure.
“Together with our consultants, we analyzed the products of leading manufacturers and came to the conclusion that the most common dimensions for hand luggage are 55x40x23-25 cm,” the press service of the carrier commented on its decision.
According to experts, the dimensions of hand luggage - 55x40x20 - were entered into the FAP in October 2017.
