Russian airports will be equipped with a single biometric passenger registration system
The Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation Maksut Shadayev said that passenger registration through a single biometric system will be implemented at several Russian airports in 2022.
“Airports are currently being developed for launch pilots. You will need to install equipment, sensors, readers. We will be able to see it next year. This will be full-fledged work at several airports, not all over the country.”
The agency is discussing the registration of passengers for flights without a passport, through a single biometric system. According to the minister, this will unload the hubs, make the landing on the flight operational.
A single biometric system is a digital platform, a key element of the mechanism for identifying a person by his biometric characteristics.
