Fiji archipelago opens to foreign tourists in November

The Fiji archipelago has opened its borders to vaccinated tourists since November 11.

At the first stage, citizens from countries with stable epidemiological conditions will be allowed to enter.

ABC News reports: More than 80% of Fiji’s population is vaccinated against the coronavirus. In addition to implementing a no-vaccination-no-job policy, the government is running a cash prize lottery that speeds up the pace of vaccination... Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama has announced that Fiji will reopen its borders to tourists from countries with low coronavirus infection from November 11.

At the first stage, citizens of Australia, the United States, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Canada, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Korea, the United States, Singapore, France, Switzerland, Japan and most Pacific island countries and territories will be able to enter Fiji.

Tourists from other countries, including those with the coronavirus vaccine, must spend at least 10 days in an isolation center on the territory of the islands or in any of the partner states in the quarantine-free regime.

The official opening of the borders for foreign visitors is scheduled for December 1, and by that time the authorities expect to expand the list of countries whose citizens will be allowed to visit Fiji.
