Airline "Victory" denied paid registration at Russian airports
The Ministry of transport refused the offer of the airline “Victory” to introduce paid registration in the air harbors of the Russian Federation.
The agency said there was no way to implement the plan. For example, there are no regulatory bases and it is not certain that they will ever appear.
The airline was going to “persuade” passengers to check in online and charge for related services at the airport. In foreign practice, Victory has already tried to introduce this “innovation”: when registering at a foreign airport, the cost of the service is €25. Representatives of the carrier called it a necessary step to avoid raising ticket prices.
The Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor’s Office sent a statement to the court, in which it requires Pobeda Airlines to cancel paid registration for foreign flights. The requirement arose after checking customer complaints and publications on the Internet.
The prosecutor's office asked the court to invalidate the €25 fee for check-in at foreign airports and oblige the low-cost airline to remove this requirement from its rules.
