Russian airlines will be able to make direct flights to South Africa
Russian airlines will be able to operate direct flights to South Africa, South Africa said in response to a request from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On the part of the African state, there are no people wishing to fly to Russia, the authorities said that the national carrier South African Airlines (SAA) plans to focus on Africa and domestic flights.
From Russian airlines, such an opportunity may be of interest to Aeroflot. In a pandemic, many traditional routes of the route network remain closed to flights, and the carrier needs to load a fleet of long-haul aircraft, that is, to enter new lines for themselves.
Russia’s coronavirus control headquarters earlier announced the opening of air links with South Africa from October 5. Entry into the country for the purpose of tourism is allowed, travelers from Russia do not require a visa to stay up to 90 days.
To visit the country, you must complete an online health declaration and do a PCR test no earlier than 72 hours before arrival.
