Road trips in Russia: where do tourists like to go?
Most Russians perceive car travel as a format of family holidays. According to the survey, 62% of respondents spend such trips with their couple, 57% plan them together with their spouses, 43% take children with them, and 33% - other family members.
At the same time, men often prefer solo trips or trips with colleagues and business partners.
These results are contained in the study “Autotravel in Russia”, conducted by ANO “National Priorities”, the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia and the Analytical Center of NAFI in September-October 2025.
Almost half of the respondents (49%) call the main purpose of recreation in nature, and 48% – sightseeing. The top 5 also included visiting loved ones (43%), interest in the route itself (38%) and beach holidays (33%).
What are the attractions that win hearts? National parks and reserves are visited by 64% of motorists, and other natural locations - 55%. Exhibition spaces (53%) and architectural monuments (51%) are not far behind.
