Boeing recommends halting 737 MAX flights worldwide Russia closed the sky

Alexander Neradko, the head of Rosaviatsiya, announced the termination of flights of Boeing 737 MAX liners "... in the airspace of the Russian Federation, flights of aircraft of this modification are prohibited until a special instruction."

The decision to lift the ban, according to the official, will be based on an analysis of “those directives and communications that will come from the Federal Aviation Administration, the National Bureau of Transportation Safety and Boeing itself.”

After the aviation disaster in Ethiopia on March 10 near the city of Debra Zeit, many countries, including EU members, announced the cessation of flights on this liner. This is the second crash in six months involving the same Boeing model. In both cases, all the people on board the ship died.

The planes were literally deployed in the air to return to the home airport to stay there until the investigation into the circumstances of the crash was completed.
On March 13, the UAE joined the boycott, which led to the cancellation of some flights of the Arab low-cost airline Flydubai, even to Russia.

On March 13, the restrictions were imposed by the United States and Canada, which, like Russia, did not initially plan to take such measures.

Operators of the Boeing 737 MAX 8 suffer losses for each day of downtime. Observers expect carriers to experience financial problems if the situation lasts too long. Roman Gusarov, the editor of the portal avia, is sure that the ban on Maxov flights is unlikely to raise the price of air tickets in Russia, since only two aircraft of this modification were operated in the country by S7 Airlines.
