Bulgaria, Poland and Czech Republic close airspace to Russia
According to the Bulgarian Ministry of Transport, “All aircraft with a license issued by the Russian Federation cannot enter the sovereign airspace of the Republic of Bulgaria, including the airspace over territorial waters.”
The ban is effective from 00.00 hours Saturday, February 26, 2022.
Tourists from Russia cannot fly to Bulgaria (and fly out of the country on flights of Russian air carriers – too), and go to other countries by transit through its territory.
Poland from 02.00 Saturday 26 February closes the airspace for Russian aircraft. The Czech Republic intends to follow the example of its neighbors.
Earlier, the aviation authorities of Great Britain announced the introduction of restrictions on Aeroflot flights to London. Russian aviation authorities on February 25 responded with a ban on the use of airspace over Russia for all British airlines.
