The number of tourist trips in Russia is growing
In the first half of the year, tourists made 41.4 million trips to Russia, which is almost 7% more compared to the same period last year, said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
From January to June, tourists made 41 million 400 thousand trips in Russia, which is almost 7% more than in the same period last year. The development of domestic tourism is facilitated by the measures of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality". Regions are developing infrastructure and creating new tourism products. This contributes to the achievement of the goal set by President Vladimir Putin: by 2030 to achieve 5% of the share of tourism in the country’s GDP and 140 million tourist trips.
In Russia, for the fifth year, there has been a positive trend in tourist trips. After the decline caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the number of tourist trips has steadily increased: in 2021, 66.5 million trips were recorded (40 percent more than in 2020), in 2022 - 73.1 million (almost 10 percent more than in 2021), in 2023 - 83.6 million (14 percent more than in 2022), and in 2024 90 million trips are expected (almost 8% more than in 2023).
2024 was a record for the number of tourist trips in Russia - then their number increased by 37% compared to 2021.
