What changes in the design of the Schengen for Russians from February 2, 2020?
From 2 February 2020, the updated EU Visa Code is in force.
The cost of a Schengen visa is 35 euros. When applying for a document in the visa centers (VC) of European countries that are part of the Schengen area, the total cost of services will increase.
Applicants must pay a visa fee (35 euros) and a service fee (visa center services). VCs of different EU countries differ, but will not exceed 30 euros.
Information on the preservation of the cost of Schengen for Russians was confirmed by representatives of tour operators Intourist, BSI Group, TUI Russia, Russian Express, Biblio-Globus, ICS Travel Group, PAC Group, TEZ Tour.
Tour operators believe that the renewal of the EU Visa Code will bring positive changes to Russians - you can "give up" for a visa 6 months before the end of the document instead of 3 months.
One of the main changes in the work of travel companies is the ability to submit documents in advance.
A five-year Schengen visa will be available to travelers who have had a multiple-entry Schengen visa for at least two years in the past three years. The visa must be used correctly, i.e. the main country of travel under the document must be the one that issued it.
Applicants wishing to obtain Finnish Schengen for five years must consider:
The decision on the visa application (duration) is made according to the previous visa history of the applicant and documents (the updated form of the paragraph on the requested duration of the visa is not).
The applicant’s passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the visa expires. If the applicant holds a passport valid for 5 years, the maximum validity period of the visa will be shorter than five years.
From 03.02.2020, an application for a visa can be submitted no earlier than 6 months before the start of the trip.
You can apply for a new visa no earlier than 6 months before the expiration of the previous visa.
In 2018, the EU countries issued more than 3.6 million visas to Russians. Every fourth visa was issued to our compatriots.
The share of multivisas in the total number of issued visas in the Russian Federation is 81.9% (in 2017 - 83.8%). Visa denials increased from 1.4% in 2017 (52,770 applications) to 1.6% (57,425 applications) in 2018.
