To visit Venice, you will need to pay up to 25 euros
Venice has decided to introduce a tourist tax and tax it on all tourists over 10 years old coming to the city.
You will have to pay for each night and for the number of “stars” of the hotel in which guests are going to stay, a maximum of 5 nights. Every night, tourists will be charged 1 euro per star. If you are staying in a five-star hotel for more than 5 days, you will have to pay 25 euros.
In the low season, which is observed in Italy from November to February, the amount of tax is promised to be reduced. This tax was introduced by Florence and Rome.
This tax promises to bring the city up to 20 million additional euros per year. The law on the new tax will come into force on the first of July, after approval by the Council of Venice.
