Medvedev proposes new idea of four-day working week
According to RBC, Dmitry Medvedev supported the idea of one of the activists of United Russia to include the term “part-time” in the Labor Code, fixing it for mothers with young children who went to work.
The head of government believes that not all young mothers will be ready to work 4 days full time, but many will agree to go to work for 5 days, giving work 4 hours.
Medvedev said that he opposes the strict definition of the concept of “part-time”. In his opinion, it will negatively affect the situation of families with children.
In August 2019, Medvedev suggested that the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection discuss the transition to a four-day period, stressing that the process should not lead to a reduction in wages.
