Cat Day in Russia

“A dog, if he is called, will run; a cat will take note.”
Mary Bly.

On the first day of spring in Russia celebrates the Day of cats. These beautiful, but wayward creatures are already so used to being near people that they put themselves not only on the same bar as a person, but even higher. But this has not surprised anyone for a long time, because stories and anecdotes do not cease to make up stories and anecdotes about cat arrogance and self-confidence.

Even different countries of the world, as if emphasizing the independence and inconstancy of cats, have set a variety of dates for their professional holiday. In the United States, cats are celebrated on October 29, in Japan on February 22, and in Poland on February 17. But despite the fact that each country has decided to celebrate cats in their own way, there is also World Cat Day, celebrated on August 8.

“Why so many days? Is it not too much for the tailed? – in bewilderment will ask the man. “Not at all, because a cat has seven lives,” the furry pet purns, smiling at himself, and he will be right.

The ancient Egyptians worshipped cats. And for many millennia, everyone who sheltered a cat in his house began to experience a strong feeling that he was the guest in this house. Having settled in your house, the cat brings coziness and warmth, creates an almost magical atmosphere, purring on your lap, heals you when you feel bad. So it’s no surprise that cats are so self-confident – there’s good reason for that.

People created a whole science of cats - felinology (from the Latin felinus - cat and Greek). Logos is a science that has proven that they are intelligent animals, and if, for example, they do not bring a stick thrown by their master, it is only because they are smart enough to understand what these stupid games are about.

Therefore, all tailed, furry or, conversely, bald, athletic and not very cats and cats, we sing glory on this wonderful sunny day!
