Deputies approve the idea of chaining aviation brawlers with handcuffs
On May 30, deputies of the State Duma at a plenary session approved in the first reading a bill that gave the right to members of the crew of aircraft to use deterrence against airfighters.
The initiative will allow the masters of the aircraft to use “necessary measures, including coercive measures, against persons who by their actions pose an immediate threat to the life or health of others and refuse to obey orders.”
It is not yet clear what will be included in the updated arsenal of aviation security officials, but as a measure of calming the airfighters, deputies approve plastic handcuffs. Lawmakers delete stun guns from the list, citing the fact that most flight attendants are girls against whom bullies use a means of restraint.
The bill will enter into force 180 days after official publication.
Experts have long been talking about the need to adopt such a document. As practice shows, airfighters are not afraid of inclusion in the “black list” of airlines, but carriers do not have effective measures to combat them.
