Deputies from “Fair Russia” propose to abandon the resort fee
Deputies from the “Fair Russia” led by Sergei Mironov submitted to the state Duma a bill to abolish the resort fee from 2020.
The document recognizes as invalid from January 1, 2020 the law “On conducting an experiment on the development of resort infrastructure in the Republic of Crimea, the Altai Territory, the Krasnodar Territory and the Stavropol Territory”.
The experiment runs from May 1, 2018 to December 31, 2022, and provides for the introduction of fees for the use of resort infrastructure.
There is a tourist collection in many European countries and in Southeast Asia. Usually this tax is sewn into the average check. We have a resort fee to pay separately for some regions, and it is not always convenient for the average tourist, said Evgeny Malygin, head of the competition “Masters of hospitality”.
At the same time, the specialist is confident in the benefits of the collection, as it goes to the local budget for the development of the infrastructure of the region. That is, this money is being collected so that next year the same tourists will come and relax in more comfortable conditions on public embankments, beaches, etc. But the procedure for collecting the resort tax in our country, unfortunately, has not yet been fully debugged, I hope that it will be possible to simplify this process so that it is invisible to the tourist and does not irritate him once again.
Currently, the cost of the resort fee in Russia is a maximum of 100 rubles per day (from 10 to 30 rubles), and for its non-payment a fine of 500 to 2000 rubles is possible.
