Deputies want to introduce 14 days without visas for tourists from countries friendly to Russia
Deputies of the faction “Fair Russia” together with the head of Sergei Mironov submitted to the State Duma a bill on the introduction of 14 days without visas for residents of countries “friendly to Russia, having close ties with it.”
S. Mironov believes that the introduction of the initiative will increase investment and the international image of our country will improve.
The deputies proposed to change the law on the procedure for leaving and entering Russia. According to the initiative, citizens of other countries “conducting a friendly policy towards the Russian Federation, having close economic and other projects and ties with the Russian Federation” can stay in Russia for 14 days without visas.
The rules of location and the list of friendly countries will be established by the Cabinet of Ministers. According to S. Mironov, we can talk about the states of the European Union. The bill proposes to remove visa restrictions for tourists from those countries that, despite the sanctions regime, continue economic and humanitarian cooperation with Russia.
Mironov lists among such countries Germany, Italy, Austria, which actively support common energy projects and whose business "with the tacit support of the state" opposes sanctions.
Mironov believes that the concept will increase the tourist flow by at least a third, and can also serve as an additional tool to combat anti-Russian propaganda.
