Dominican Republic: Russians became the leader of tourist demand
Russian tourist flow to the Dominican Republic in September exceeded the volume of pre-pandemic 2019, and the country showed the best indicators in terms of tourist flow among European countries.
In September 2021, 22,092 Russians came to the Dominican Republic, and took first place in terms of tourist flow among European countries. From January to September, 31,674 Russians visited the country. In general, the tourist flow to the Dominican Republic in September showed the best performance in the history of its tourism – 365,544 foreign travelers, which is 12% higher than in September 2019.
In 2021, tour operators delivered charters from the regions, including from Ufa, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Rostov-on-Don.
Dominican Republic will be one of the leaders in demand among Russians in the winter season. In terms of current sales of foreign destinations, this Caribbean country is in the TOP-3, and in bookings for the New Year period, a number of tour operators lead.
Almost 90% of hotels have been reopened. The loading of the hotel base in September amounted to 51.6%.
