Road Dzhubga-Sochi for 1.2 trillion rubles: officials wanted to equip the Cote d’Azur

Rosavtodor proposed to build a new four-lane highway that will be able to connect two Black Sea resorts. Sochi and Jubgu.

According to media reports, the construction of the road will cost about 1.2 trillion rubles, which is much more expensive than the Crimean bridge (its cost was 227 billion rubles).

Currently, only one road passes along the coast, which operates at the limit of its capacity.

One of the federal officials told Kommersant that the concept of Rosavtodor involves the reconstruction of the route, but in fact - this is a proposal to create a new four-lane highway on the site of the serpentine, whose price can be 1.2 trillion rubles.

A civil servant remarked: "The idea is to create a Russian Cote d'Azur, to give the south a beautiful, large highway, so that the coast in a convertible with a breeze can be driven."

The Ministry of Transport has already commented on the plan for the reconstruction of the route from Dzhubga to Sochi, and called it inexpedient. The project was estimated at an astronomical amount of over 1.6 trillion rubles and proved too expensive and difficult to implement technically.

The ministry said that such a situation has developed only “at present”, that is, the idea of building the most expensive road in the Russian Federation was not finally abandoned.
