"Duty-free" in the air

Soon, the world's first "duty-free" store will appear in the airspace. Korean Air plans to open a duty-free shop aboard its A380, which will be the world’s first “flying store.”

In June of this year, the first retail shelves with cosmetics, liqueurs and accessories will appear on board the airline’s liners, designed for 407 passengers. First class passengers will be asked to make their first purchases before entering business class. The last store will be visited by economy class passengers.

The store will be located on the main deck of the ship and will occupy 13 seats in economy class.
The airline plans to launch "duty-free" on 10 aircraft by 2014. The first duty-free flight will take place on June 10, 2011.
