Double Summer Time in the UK
In Britain The authorities are going to launch a program of “double summer time”, namely, to move the clock two hours ahead.
David Cameron is the author of the project and is supported by road safety advocates and doctors. It is expected that this innovation will primarily benefit the tourism industry in England. Long summer evenings, according to analysts, could bring the UK 3.5 billion additional pounds a year.
“Dual Daylight Saving Time” means that in winter the British will shift hands one hour ahead of time on GMT in winter, and in summer – another hour ahead. Thus, in summer the sun will rise an hour later, but the bright evening will be longer. The authors and supporters of the idea are confident that thanks to this reform, the flow of tourists will significantly increase, and the state treasury will be significantly replenished. Also, due to the fact that people will later turn on the light, the amount of emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere will decrease.
