Environmentalists listed dirty and clean regions of Russia

All-Russian public organization “Green Patrol” published the top of the most polluted Russian regions as of spring 2019.

The sad rating includes Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Irkutsk, Nizhny Novgorod and Orenburg regions, Krasnoyarsk Territory.

The main problem of these regions is the complexity of recycling. The “Green Patrol” is sure that the waste processing complexes cannot cope with the huge amount of incoming waste.

Another challenge in dirty regions is the irrational approach to recycling. Instead of opening “garbage technoparks”, waste is transported to landfills in the old way. Under construction and existing plants cannot handle even 10% of the garbage they receive.

In the ecological top list of the cleanest regions of Russia, the Green Patrol put the Tambov and Belgorod regions, the Altai Territory, the Altai Republic, and Moscow. In the top ten prosperous territories are the Kursk, Magadan, Murmansk, Ulyanovsk regions, the Republic of Komi.
