Estonian streets were left without payphones

The last day of November was the last for payphones in Estonia. From now on, no one in the country will be able to use a phone card. This decision was made by Elion due to the too low activity of using payphones and serious costs for their maintenance. Therefore, today at 9 a.m., the export of payboxes from Estonia began. Also, starting from December 1, all owners of pay cards within a year will be paid compensation for the time they did not have time to use. This applies only to cards that have not expired in 2009-10. Silvera Soomre, head of the private client segment of Elion, says that you can clearly see how out of date the service payphones: compared to 2004, the volume of use of machines decreased by 30 times.
