Festival "Merchant caravan" will be held in the Tver region

June 11, 2011 in the village of Vasilev Torzhok district of the Tver region together with the traditional folklore holiday "Trinity festivities" for the fifth time will be held Interregional trade and tourist festival "Merchant caravan". This holiday is held with the support of the Committee on Tourism, Resorts and International Relations of the Tver region and is part of the Golden Way of Russia program.

Over the years, the festival has become one of the landmark events of the tourist life of the Tver region. In 2011, in accordance with the festival program, representatives from municipalities of the Tver region and neighboring regions will gather at it. The festival is designed to show the diverse potential of the huge tourist space between Moscow and St. Petersburg, which many people already associate with the Golden Way of Russia brand.

As usual, all participants of the festival will be able to demonstrate services and goods for game money, specially made for this purpose, and participate in competitive programs. The central organ of the festival is the Bank, which organizes the sale of game money through posts – “customs”, located at the entrance to the open-air museum of wooden architecture, where the festival will be held. The Bank exchanges game currency, sets the rates of “sale” and “purchase”, keeps records of the accounts of the participants of the competition, sums up the results of competitions and puts “visas” – makes a mark in the passports of the traveler about visiting the festival. Many contests of the festival have already become traditional: a competition of guides, a competition of advertising "Merchant", a competition of merchants, a competition of tourist animation and even a competition of administrations, the committee explained.

This year, a professional jury will work to evaluate the participants of the competitions “Merchants” and tourist animation. Within the framework of the festival, a round table will be held on the interaction of the spheres of culture and tourism on the topic: “How to turn cultural events into tourist events”.
