The festival "Times and Epochs" will be brought to the international level
In July, the capital’s Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve will host the second festival “Times and Epochs”. Its theme will be the Moscow Kingdom. According to the head of the Committee on Tourism and Hotel Management of Moscow Sergey Shpilko, the festival should be held at the international level and attract foreign tourists.
“It is necessary to bring the festival to a high world level, make it the largest event to attract not only domestic tourist flow, but also foreign ones,” Sergei Shpilko said at a press conference on Wednesday. This year it will be held in one place - Kolomenskoye. In the future, the number of sites can be increased due to the use of other parks of the city, for example, Sokolnikov, Gorky TsPKiO.
According to Shpilko, the festival will be held from 6 to 8 July. During this time, it will be visited by at least 75 thousand people, exactly the same number was at the festival last autumn, when it was held for the first time. The theme of this year’s festival is the Moscow Kingdom. And one of its most bloodthirsty periods is the end of the Time of Troubles (XVII century). A thousand participants of reconstruction clubs from Russia and about 300 foreign guests, also engaged in history, will personify the turmoil, its heroes, the lives of ordinary people of that time. Guests of the festival will be able to look at a piece of craft posad, a city street of the XVII century, clothes, utensils, and also get acquainted with the customs of citizens of that time. The culmination of the festival will be a reconstruction of the Battle of Moscow in 1612. In addition, for “entertainment” there will be a playground for outdoor games, a living yard, where you can buy souvenirs.
Recall that the first festival in 2011 was dedicated to Ancient Russia IX-XI centuries. The festival was held there - in Kolomna.
