FMS explained the new rules for issuing passports

In the near future, the offices of the Federal Migration Service will be provided with forms and new questionnaires, which from now on will need to be fully filled in to obtain foreign passports on the old model. The newest rules do not require the employer to confirm this questionnaire.

And in fact, the process of issuing a foreign passport for a period of five years will be much easier. Now the need to register this form at the main place of work will be abolished. It is also not necessary to provide the original and a copy of the work book, as previously indicated in the departmental order. All instructions entered into force on April 7 this year. However, information on employment will have to be provided. It will also be possible to obtain a passport in a short time, but for this it will be necessary to explain the reasons and certify them documented. The causes must be serious, such as the death or illness of a family member living abroad. In such cases, an old passport will be issued for a period of five years.

In addition, according to the same criteria, it is planned to simplify the issuance of biometric foreign passports for a period of ten years in the near future. We have already prepared an order on this matter, and today it is under consideration in the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation. As a result, to obtain foreign passports of a new sample, it will be necessary to provide a package of documents to the Federal Migration Service, which includes a passport of a Russian citizen, a questionnaire filled in earlier, a military card for men, a bank receipt for payment of state duty and two photos. For this purpose, you can also use the Unified Public Services Portal. It should also be noted that the size of the state fee has not changed and remained at the same level: for a foreign passport for a period of five years, you need to pay one thousand rubles, for a new passport, the payment is two and a half thousand. The deadline for issuing documentation also remained at the same level.
