Where in the Crimea will introduce a resort fee in 2019?
The resorts of the Crimean peninsula have been determined, in which from May 1, 2019, a resort fee is going to be charged to tourists. Three regions that had previously planned to participate in the experiment abandoned it.
From May 1 to September 30, 2019, the resort fee (10 rubles per person / day) will be charged to guests of the region in Alushta, Yalta, Sudak, Feodosit. Evpatoria, Saki and the Black Sea region do not plan to participate in the gathering. Regional authorities believe that the resort industry is not ready to introduce a tax on guests, and additional fees will lead to refusals to travel.
According to the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic V.Volchenko, an experiment on the introduction of a tourist tax is needed to determine financial mechanisms and their effectiveness.
The Crimean resort fee was supposed to start in April 2018, but the State Council of the region postponed the experiment until May 2019. During this time, the leadership of the peninsula planned to establish a register of operators of the resort fee, to introduce accounting systems.
In 2018, the resort fee was introduced in the Krasnodar, Stavropol and Altai regions of Russia. In Anapa, Gelendzhik, Sochi, Hot Key and resort settlements of the Tuapse district: Novomikhaylovsky, Dzhubga, Nebug and Shepsi the fee is 10 rubles / day per tourist. In Essentuki, Zheleznovodsk, Kislovodsk and Pyatigorsk - 50 rubles, in Belokurikha - 30 rubles. The fee is charged to adult citizens.
The Public Opinion Foundation conducted a survey in which it was found that 51% of Russians have a negative attitude to this tax, it was approved by 28% of citizens.
