Minister of transport: do not wait for the imminent opening of resorts in Egypt
Russian Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov said that one should not expect the opening of the resorts of Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh in the near future.
Sokolov emphasized that the timing in any case does not depend on the Ministry of Transport, and the airports of resorts should be additionally checked – at least one inspection is needed.
On December 15, 2017, the Ministers of Transport of the Russian Federation and Egypt signed a protocol on cooperation, it was decided to resume regular flights. Moscow-Cairo flights are scheduled to be launched in February 2018. Tour operators predict that the opening of Egypt will not happen before the summer of next year.
